SHADY SUSAN CASHES IN WHILE MAINERS STRUGGLE

Susan Collins has spent 30 years in Washington looking out for powerful insiders – and getting richer while Mainers fall behind.

She’s taken more than $1.2 million from lobbyists and has repeatedly refused to crack down on corruption – failing seven times to support a ban on members of Congress becoming lobbyists.

While Mainers struggle with rising costs, Collins’ wealth has grown by millions – driven in part by nearly 700 stock trades made by her husband while she’s been in office.

And new reporting shows that Collins violated the STOCK Act by failing to report her husband’s stock trades at least 25 times.

Shady Susan just keeps getting richer while Mainers get left behind.

Shady Susan has spent her career getting rich off of stock trades and violating the STOCK Act.

  • In 2025, Collins’ estimated net worth reached to as much as $9.8 million – with her portfolio’s performance repeatedly outperforming the stock market in recent years. According to reporting, on Collins’ most recent financial disclosure, her family’s stock portfolio rose over 77% – thanks in part to the almost 700 stock trades her husband has made.

  • Collins violated the STOCK Act by reporting 25 financial transactions, which had a total value of up to $445,000, beyond the 45-day deadline proscribed by the law. And now, she is the only member of the Maine delegation to oppose ending congressional stock trading.

A REVOLVING DOOR FOR LOBBYISTS

There’s a pattern of corruption for Shady Susan: she takes money from corporate lobbyists and Big Pharma, then delivers for them.

  • In April 2026, Susan Collins was awarded the Bryce Harlow Award at Washington, D.C.’s “Lobbyist Prom” – an annual gala backed by corporate lobbyists and Big Pharma. The award, named for one of the original “revolving door” politicians, recognizes leaders in business-government relations with deep ties to corporate lobbyists.

  • After backing the GOP health care plan last year, Collins took in nearly $120,000 from PACs connected to major insurance companies – the same companies now hiking premiums for Mainers by up to 23% in 2026.

    • That’s in addition to the roughly half a million dollars she’s received from Big Pharma over her career, all while supporting votes that aligned with the priorities of one of the most powerful corporate lobbies.

  • A private equity billionaire poured $2 million into supporting Collins’ re-election –  just one day before she cast a deciding vote to protect tax breaks for the private equity industry.

  • And throughout her time in Washington, Collins has repeatedly put her own interests first. She’s opposed bipartisan efforts to ban members of Congress and their spouses from trading individual stocks – even dodging questions after reports showed her portfolio ranked eighth among the fastest-growing in Congress in 2024. She’s also spent hundreds of thousands of dollars on lavish travel and dining, including stays at luxury resorts.
